The congregations of each of the three churches in our United Benefice are all warmly invited to a special Service to be held at St Barnabas Church, Ranmore on Sunday 9 June at 11am. (Apart from the 8am service of Holy Communion at St Martins, there will be no other morning services in the benefice).
This special Service will celebrate the Feasts of Pentecost and St Barnabas, as well as commemorating the Centenary of the dedication of the Cubitt Memorial Chapel. This BCP service of Holy Communion will be presided over by the Rt Revd Christopher Herbert, who is an Hon. Asst. Bishop in the Dioceses of Guildford, Winchester and Salisbury. We are also pleased to have the renowned trumpeter Crispian Steele-Perkins and Martin Hall who will play on the organ, together with a specially augmented combined benefice choir. Music features strongly in this Service, including the sounding of the Last Post and Reveille as part of the re-dedication of the Cubitt Memorial Chapel.
After the service, refreshments will be provided in a Marquee in the New Churchyard. We are expecting a considerable number of people to attend this important service, but we would like to ensure that there is enough reserved seating for those of our regular congregations who wish to attend. If you would like to attend this service, would you therefore please either (i) complete the sign-up sheet at the back of Church, or (ii) inform the Churchwardens of your intention to come, and whether you need or can offer a lift.
We are asking that all regular members of our congregations who wish to attend are seated by 10.45am, to allow time for the various dignitaries to arrive and be seated. We look forward to welcoming you to this special Service on Sunday 9 June.
Further details of the service will be in the June Magazine.
